Enhance fire performance with our liquid flame retardant

Enhance fire performance with our liquid flame retardant

Wednesday, 15 July, 2026

Flame-retardant additives play a vital role in reducing the flammability of materials. In thermostable resins and PVC plastisol coatings, the most widely used flame-retardant additives are based on organic phosphates and halogenated systems used in combination with antimony, each offering a different mechanism of action. However, current market trends are increasingly focused on halogen-free formulations, driven by environmental regulations and the demand for reduced emissions of toxic smoke. These advances make it possible to develop safer materials without compromising the mechanical performance or appearance of the finished product.

At COMINDEXpart of IMPAG Group– we are committed to more sustainable solutions and offer LUVOGARD HF P70, a halogen-free, phosphorus-based flame retardant. It is a transparent liquid that is easy to incorporate into formulations. It has been specifically developed for use in thermostable resins such as polyester, epoxy and polyurethane, in combination with ATH, or as a more sustainable alternative to antimony trioxide in PVC plastisol coatings.

By using LUVOGARD HF P70, and consequently reducing the amount of ATH required, you can lower formulation viscosity, improve processability and manufacture lighter-weight components.

LUVOGARD HF P70 exhibits very low water solubility, providing excellent weather resistance. In addition, it does not generate smoke or odours when it decomposes.
