Accelerate PUR adhesive curing

Accelerate PUR adhesive curing

Catalysts are chemical substances that accelerate reactions without being consumed in the process. They simply reduce the activation energy required for a reaction, enabling it to proceed more rapidly.

Catalysts can be classified in several ways: according to the effect they have on the system, whether they are homogeneous or heterogeneous, or according to their chemical nature. For instance, biological catalysts are known as enzymes, while organic catalysts are referred to as organocatalysts.

At Comindex –part of IMPAG Group– we distribute Galata's range of organometallic catalysts under the Fomrez trade name. These tin-based (Sn) compounds are available in several chemistries, including thioglycolates, mercaptides, carboxylates, sulphides and oxides.

The table below shows a selection of products together with their key characteristics in terms of curing speed and hydrolytic stability:

The choice of catalyst has a direct impact on the final application, whether for the manufacture of PUR foams, adhesives, paints, coatings or other systems.

For this reason, we always recommend consulting our technical sales specialists to identify the most suitable solution for your specific application.
