PCBL, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of carbon black, produces a wide range of grades specifically designed for the thermoplastics sector. Whatever your application, we can help you find the carbon black that helps you to achieve the desired shade of black, with excellent dispersion and without compromising the technical properties of your plastic.

Depending on the final application, the type of carbon black to be employed may vary substantially:

  • Injection grades: Bleumina® grades are specially formulated to deliver deep blacks with a bluish tone and excellent dispersion. The different grades can be tailored to any end use and also comply with the most stringent food contact regulations.
     
  • Extrusion grades: Royale Black® carbon blacks are available in a range of particle sizes and are specifically suited for extrusion applications. There are dedicated grades for film, cable and pipes, all designed to meet the most demanding requirements: food contact compliance, low impurity content, outstanding filter test results and grades for pressurised water pipes that do not affect organoleptic properties.
     
  • Fibre grades: certain Royale Black® grades are specifically developed for fibre applications, which are particularly demanding in terms of particle size and impurity control. PCBL’s fibre grades are subject to strict quality controls and deliver excellent filter test values. Even microfibre extrusion is no issue when using PCBL carbon blacks.
     
  • Conductive grades: the Energia® family from PCBL offers excellent conductivity even at low concentrations. A wide range is available to help you select the grade best suited to your manufacturing process, optimising both dispersion and conductivity.

Additionally, PCBL manufactures carbon blacks in both powder and bead form, the latter being easier to disperse and handle.
