Unlike coatings on metal, wood or walls, coatings on glass often entail greater complications owing to adhesion difficulties. We Comindex recommend using Alberdingk Boley’s U 9000 dispersion.

This polyurethane dispersion with a water-borne aliphatic polycarbonate structure is used in both 1K and 2K systems, and is specifically designed for the use of isocyanate free (such as silanes or carbodiimides) cross-linkers, making it possible to work with a safer 2K system.

In terms of the properties of this resin, it stands out owing to its excellent chemical product, solvent, food and drink stain, grease and oil resistance, and it also offers excellent adhesion to the surfaces on which it is applied.

This high adhesion makes it an excellent choice for glass coatings in areas of application such as glass bottles for perfumes and alcoholic drinks or laboratory material requiring extensive chemical resistance.

Furthermore, on account of the remarkable adhesion properties, it is also recommended for other applications such as overprint varnishes (OPV), metal and plastic coatings, easy clean coatings and floor vinyl.
