Kill two birds with one stone: self-cleaning, decontaminating façades

ADINSClean is a photocatalytic additive distributed by Comindex, which is based on a TiO2 functionalised sepiolite. Its role involves catalysing the degradation of organic matter on a surface through the action of sunlight (UV).

By incorporating this additive into paint formulations for façades, we achieve self-cleaning, decontaminating surfaces, thus reducing maintenance costs – since regular cleaning becomes unnecessary – while contributing to cleaner air as it also photocatalyses the degradation of atmospheric pollution (VOCs and nitrogen oxides) into non-polluting substances.

Its technology is one of a kind. Unlike other products, the TiO2 nanoparticles are supported on sepiolite, a mineral characterised by a needle-like shape. Accordingly, the nanoparticles are more easily dispersed and avoid agglomeration, delivering a greater effective surface. This results in enhanced effectiveness at lower doses.

In addition to paints for self-cleaning, decontaminating façades, ADINSClean can be incorporated into:

  • Asphalts
  • Mortars
  • Concretes
  • Ceramics
