Make the leap to biosolvents

Make the leap to biosolvents

Thursday, 15 July, 2021

Concern for the use of safer, more sustainable chemical products has been increasing substantially in the industry and worldwide in general. Spurred on by the implementation of more restrictive regulations and the quest for products that are safer to handle, the market is increasingly calling for sustainable alternatives to traditional solvents.

For some time now, we at Comindex, S.A. have been encouraging you to make the move towards the use of biosolvents as substitutes for traditional organic solvents as they are safer, more sustainable alternatives that are less hazardous for the environment. Specifically, we are recommending the range manufactured by our represented company GALACTIC.

These biosolvents are lactic acid esters and they are safer than more conventional solvents since they incorporate fewer pictograms in their markers. Moreover, they are biodegradable because in part they are made of lactic acid produced by fermentation from sugar or starch-based glucose, thereby making them sustainable.

We are offering the following references:

  • Galaster EL98, a lactic ethyl, is miscible with water and most organic solvents.
  • Galaster BL97, a lactic butyl, is partly miscible with water and most organic solvents.

In short, they are a safer, more environmentally friendly alternative that provides for a less toxic work setting.
