Do you want to matt your paints, varnishes or inks without losing chemical resistance? Are you looking for excellent scratch and abrasion resistance in your matt-based formulations? Do you need a non-slip or soft-feel matt surface? Does your matt finish lead to very high viscosity?

The answer lies in the FINMATT range of products distributed by Comindex. They are matting agents in powder form for coatings, paints and inks based on combinations of silica and polymeric microspheres. The blend of inorganic and organic particles not only provides an effective matt finish; it also enhances chemical and mechanical resistance, allowing for varying tactile finishes. They have minimal impact on the final viscosity of the formulation.

Coatings formulated with FINMATT benefit from multiple applications: varnishes for parquet and wooden floors, furniture, laminates, coatings for plastics and glass, inks for packaging, leather finishes, etc., and they may be used in all types of systems (water-borne, solvent-based, 100% solid, UV curing and 1K/2K).

All products have a matting effect.

In addition to their matting effect, certain products ensure that even at high volumes (5-10%) there is no impact when it comes to chemical resistance (to alcohol, coffee, hand cream, etc.) and mechanical resistance (to scratches, buffing) on matt surfaces. They also have a non-slip effect. It comes in various average particle sizes to suit differing dry film thicknesses. These matting agents are designed to be better able to retain the soft feel that resin provides.

174V (8 µm), 121V (8 µm), 151V (9 µm), 177V (10 µm), 176V (16 µm), 173V (27 µm).

These products are used to alter surface texture, offering various average particle sizes ranging from finely-structured surfaces to high-grip ones. As well as their contribution to surface matting, they are specifically designed to achieve optimal surface resistance, including high resistance to abrasion, scratching and washability of the surface (wall paints, construction coatings, flooring, etc.). Similarly, they exhibit very low impact on chemical surface resistance (to alcohol, coffee, hand cream, etc.).

171V (15 µm), 172V (18 µm), 167V (30 µm), 166V (37 µm).

We also offer the FINMATT hard range that includes various average particle sizes to suit differing dry film thicknesses. These matting agents are specifically designed to achieve optimal surface resistance. Even at high volumes (8-10%), and in matt coatings, there is no impact on resistance to scratches, buffing and abrasion. Similarly, the impact on chemical surface resistance (to alcohol, coffee, hand cream, etc.) is low.

183V (4 µm), 170V (5 µm), 152V (5 µm), 175V (8 µm), 164V (8 µm).

Lastly, specific products are available for matting of 100%-UV systems, for industrial coatings for thin layer parquet, furniture coatings, foil coatings, inks for packaging and so on.
